It was a great day for a party

The 2017 Tyler Union (TYU) Family Appreciation Day turned out to be the best yet with over 400 team and family members attending. Fresh off the grill, delicious hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings were served throughout the day and the Kona Ice truck was on hand serving refreshing sno-cones.  Upbeat music by the DJ kept the crowd pumped with tunes like Sweet Home Alabama and Moves like Jagger, as everyone enjoyed midway games, ring the bell, jousting, spin art, putt-putt golf, horseshoes, fishing, inflatable slides, ball pits and so much more.

The trackless train ride tours of the foundry had people lined up all day and it was standing room only at the bingo tent.  The volleyball games are always highly competitive and a huge crowd pleaser so this year they held a double elimination tournament. With nine teams competing for medals and more importantly bragging rights, it was the Shipping #1 team that made a comeback to beat the Blockbusters by one point to become the 2017 TYU volleyball champions.

It was a perfect day for a picnic and a perfect way of showing our appreciation to all of the Tyler Union team members and their families.
