Tyler Union and Core & Main response helps to restore critical water services
January 5, 2026
Tyler Union, a McWane, Inc. company, and Core & Main, a leading specialty distributor, quickly responded by providing materials to repair a 36-inch water main rupture in Connecticut on Monday, December 12.
The break left residents across three cities without water services. Crews required four 36-inch mechanical joint C153 domestic sleeves to make the repair.
Core & Main District Manager Robin Ford contacted Tyler Union sales representatives the day following the break to help restore service as quickly as possible.
Upon learning the sleeves were not available at nearby Tyler Union inventory in Vineland, New Jersey, Tyler Union distribution and management immediately coordinated, identifying the required products were available in Anniston, Alabama.
Team members in Anniston, including Shipping Supervisor Alex Garcia, made considerable efforts to expedite loading and shipping of the sleeves over the weekend, helping get the products to their destination quickly.
"This project was a great example of the teamwork between Core & Main and Tyler Union, addressing an urgent situation with collaboration,”
Core & Main District Manager Robin Ford
As a result of the coordinated response and after-hours efforts, water service was restored to approximately 70,000 residents the following Tuesday. The rapid response reflects both companies’ commitment to service excellence and the role their products play in maintaining critical water infrastructure.
