Tyler Union continues to strengthen the Anniston area's skilled‑trades pipeline through their partnership with Gadsden State Community College.
Two scholarships, The Tyler Union Workforce Development Scholarship and the Tyler Union Electrical Technology Scholarship are awarded by the Gadsden State Community College Cardinal Foundation. Funded by Tyler Union, these scholarships provide financial assistance to students enrolled in one of several programs that meet eligibility criteria: Electrical Technology, Engineering Design Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechanical Design, Mechatronics and Precision Machining. Both scholarships are renewable for a second year for students who maintain a qualifying GPA.
This year, the scholarships were awarded to the following students at the Cardinal Foundation Dinner:
-
Benjamin Brady (Industrial Automation Technology, Oxford)
-
Gael Chino (Industrial Automation Technology, Oxford)
-
Bryant McCarney (Industrial Automation Technology, Oxford)
-
Kingston Peeler (Industrial Automation Technology, Jacksonville)
-
Zach Pressley (Industrial Automation Technology, Wellborn)
-
Alex Zavala (Electrical Technology, Ohatchee)
“Supporting technical education through scholarships is an investment in both people and the communities in which we operate,” said McWane Anniston Operations’ Human Resources Director Robert Haynes, who represented Tyler Union at the event. “These scholarships are a pathway to meaningful careers, increased confidence, and long-term workforce success.”
